On this late August afternoon I was sitting with camera in hand waiting for an avian arrival. This Brown Thrasher surprised the living daylights out of me when he flew up to the rail and started hammering on this no melt suet block. I've seen him many times on the ground tossing leaves and small rocks looking for a bug..........but up on the deck?! With me sitting there?! This guy was on the deck nearly every day that I was able to observe. He loved coming in late day/early evening to hammer the suet block. I hope I see him again this summer.
